Former President Donald Trump has delivered his big acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention just a few days after an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
.
Of course, Trump talked about his accomplishments — it was expected to be much like the first debate or any of his rally speeches, a bit of fact with a lot of fiction.
The former reality star argued that the Justice Department, the Democrats, and President Joe Biden unfairly prosecuted him.
He blamed others for his multiple felony convictions. Trump did not focus much of his remarks on Biden’s terrible debate in June. Trump insisted that Biden is old, “not there,” unable, and unfit to be in the White House.
Sources say that Trump believes that Biden should have his head checked for dementia, Parkinson’s, and other degenerative illnesses.
The stage was set for Trump to paint the portrait of an older man who is in cognitive decline and being manipulated by Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats, including former President Barack Obama.
However, Biden tried to implement an extraordinary and daring post-debate plan to remain the nominee and win reelection in November.
This plan involved a series of public appearances, interviews, and a three-page letter to his party’s members, all aimed at convincing them that he is mentally fit and ready to fight for his job as president of the United States.
A letter from the defiant president
In a letter, President Biden told wobbling congressional Democrats he would be the nominee and was determined to save the nation’s democracy against Donald Trump.
Biden wrote: “I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am firmly committed to staying in this race, to running this race to the end, and beating Donald Trump.”
Throughout the letter, he laid out the case for his reelection, spoke about his record as commander-in-chief and mental fitness, and swiped at the elites who had abandoned ship.
He concluded by: “The question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now. And it’s time for it to end. We have one job. And that is to beat Donald Trump. We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election. Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It is time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump.”
Biden calls in Morning Joe – a move straight out of Trump’s playbook
Biden, who has the support of senior voters and Democratic leaders, feels that his presidential campaign is viable.
By taking a surprising page from Donald Trump’s playbook, Biden was determined to prove that he is energized and could handle unscripted moments.
His decision to call into Morning Joe was a strategic move to defend his case further and show his readiness for the campaign.
Appearing on the MSNBC morning show, Joe Biden slammed his Republican rival for disappearing from the campaign to enjoy golf games.
Biden explained that he had been traveling across the country, meeting with Americans and understanding their issues. The Democratic leader made these fiery comments during his appearance on Morning Joe, expressing his frustration with the party’s elites and his determination to continue his campaign.
He said: “Well look — Democrats — Joe, let me say it this way, the reason I’ve been on the road so much, all over the country, while Trump is riding around in a golf cart, filling out his golf cart before, golf cart before he even hits the ball — but anyway, he hasn’t been anywhere in 10 days, I’ve been all over the country, No. 1.”
He continued: “And I’ve gone over the country for several reasons, one, to make sure my instinct was right about the party still wanting me to be the nominee. And all the data, all the data shows that the average Democrat out there who voted, 14 million of them who’ve voted for me, still want me to be the nominee, No. 1.”
Biden slammed the critics by sharing: “I’m getting so frustrated by the elites. Now, I’m not talking about you guys but the elites in the party. They know so much more. But if any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me. Go ahead. Announce — announce for president. Challenge me at the convention.”
Biden also attended a powerful and emotional church service in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and sat down for lengthy interviews with George Stephanopoulos and Lester Holt, where he declared that only God almighty can make him step down.
Biden, like Jesus, plans to meet with as many people as possible to spread the truth that he can do this job after dealing with COVID.
Trump is also keeping an eye on Harris as a possible nominee and Biden replacement.
