Despite being thousands of miles away from her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, Kim Kardashian has taken to social media to congratulate him on a job well done after he bid adieu to Saturday Night Live.
Kardashian is currently in Italy, where her older sister, Kourtney Kardashian, wed fiancé and Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker.
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are really in love
After Davidson made his last appearance on SNL, Kardashian shared a loving message on her Instagram Stories.
The TV veteran told the comedian that she loved him and that she was very proud of him.
Kim Kardashian wrote: “Hiii, In case you haven’t heard this lately, I love you. I love you so f—ing much, and I’m so proud of you — of the big things and the little things and everything in between the big things and the little things.”
The SKIMS founder went on to say: “Consider me your personal, little life cheerleader because you deserve to have one. Woo! Gawd, you’re so cool. Okay. Keep doing you. I love you so much. Bye!”
Several hours later, Kardashian returned to her page. She posted a collage of some of Davidson’s most memorable moments on SNL, including his first and last appearances on the show.
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson started dating after sharing a staged kiss on SNL.
The former Keeping up with the Kardashians star appeared on SNL in October 2021 as the host and took part in a series of hilarious skits.
In one sketch, Kardashian played Jasmine and Davidson was Aladdin, and they kissed.
Soon after, the pair was spotted in California on their first date. The couple made things Instagram official with a photo taken during Davidson’s birthday in November.
In May 2022, the billionaire wearing an iconic Marilyn Monroe dress attended the Met Gala with Davidson.
The actor was present for the red carpet premiere of Kardashian’s Hulu reality show The Kardashians. The couple also stole the spotlight at the 2022 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson are leaving Saturday Night Live
Over the weekend, Natasha Lyonne hosted the emotional Season 47 finale of Saturday Night Live, where several longtime cast members said their goodbyes. However, SNL institution Kenan Thompson is staying on for another season.
Those exiting the NBC show are veteran cast members Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, and Kyle Mooney.
Pete Davidson was 20 years old when he joined the show. He rapidly became a household name known for his honest and blunt take on his life, mental state, and battle with personal issues.
The Staten Island native and boyfriend of Kim Kardashian had a proper send-off where he did what he does best — deliver self-deprecating jokes.
He was featured in the last part of the Weekend Update segment to discuss the past several years of his life.
Pete Davidson gets emotional during SNL exit
The visibly emotional 28-year-old comedian discussed his time on the show and used the opportunity to thank SNL creator Lorne Michaels for taking a risky bet on him.
The actor said: “I never imagined this would be my life. Back then, I was just a skinny kid that no one knew which race I was. And now everyone knows I’m White because I became hugely successful while barely showing up to work. Look at me now, and I’m aging like an old banana.”
Davidson also named dropped Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West, and his former fiancée, Ariana Grande, and took a swipe at Will Smith for the infamous Oscar slap.
He jokingly shared the conversation that he had with Lorne Michaels by saying: “He goes, ‘Oh, hold on for dear life — it’s a true story. And then when I auditioned for SNL, he said, ‘I don’t think you’re right for this show, so let’s screw this up together.’ And that’s exactly what we did.”
The star added: “If anything, I should inspire hope that literally anyone can be on Saturday Night Live. Seriously, you see a guy bumming cigarettes outside a 7-Eleven at 2:00 a.m. that’s not some meth head, and that’s the next Pete Davidson.”
Davidson struck a more serious note as he explained how being part of the SNL cast contributed to his well-being.
He thanked the cast by saying: “I appreciate SNL always having my back and allowing me to work on myself and grow. Thank you to Lorne for never giving up on me or judging me, even when everyone else was, and for believing in me and allowing me to have a place that I could call home, with the memories that will last a lifetime. So, thank you, guys.”
What is next for Pete Davidson?
The King of Staten Island actor is already booked and busy. Davidson has landed a series based on his life called Bupkis.
The show will air on Peacock and will star Edie Falco as his mother. He will also executive produce the project with Michaels.
Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said this about the project: “Pete Davidson is one of the most sought-after comedians today with his smart, one-of-a-kind humor and honest point of view. Bupkis will showcase Pete’s funny, surprising and unfiltered brand of comedy audiences have come to love as we continue to bolster our Peacock comedy slate.”
Davidson is set to star in the upcoming movies — Machine Gun Kelly‘s Good’s Mourning, Meet Cute alongside Kaley Cuoco, and The Home.
