1883, the Yellowstone prequel, has been out for a few days now, and the TV series has already attracted quite a bit of attention from audiences. With 4.9 million viewers, 1883 is already looking like a big hit for Paramount+.
Faith Hill opens about challenging 1883 scenes.
It looks like things are going smoothly for now — and in the meantime, actress Faith Hill has decided to open up a bit about the filming process and her involvement in it, focusing mainly on scenes that presented her with some challenges.
According to her, filming alongside her husband, Tim McGraw, was not as easy as some of their fans might expect, as she is a naturally shy person and felt awkward in certain scenes with him.
In particular, Hill pointed towards a scene in which she had to take a bath together with James, the character played by Tim McGraw.
The whole experience was apparently very uncomfortable for Faith Hill, who added that she was obviously comfortable with her husband in normal circumstances, but that was not normal for her.
The actress explained that the show’s creator was understanding of her issues and did everything they could to make her more comfortable, including closing off the set while the scene in question was being filmed.
Hill told PEOPLE: “It was really uncomfortable for me personally because I’m a very shy person in that type of situation. I obviously feel comfortable with my husband, but this is different. For intimate scenes, I feel like that belongs to us.”
She continued: “Thankfully, Taylor (the show’s creator) understood Faith’s hesitance and closed the set to make the experience more comfortable for the singer — “and it turned out to be beautiful.”
Tim McGraw laughs at “real” 1883 slap from Faith Hill.
McGraw also spoke about the experience and shared some interesting tidbits. The country music legend revealed: “It’s been incredible to do scenes together and to watch her work.”
He also opened up about a slapping scene and he added with a laugh: “I was expecting a finger slap, but it was a paw to the jaw. There was 25 years of pent-up aggression going on. When you see it on screen, you realize it was a genuine hit.”
The couple took some measures to draw the lines between their private and professional lives. Hill shared in the cover story: “We have made it a point not to work on our scenes together until we’re on set. It’s important that we react to one another naturally as characters, not as husband and wife.”
Hill and McGraw enjoy working on Yellowstone prequel.
In the end, it looks like the effort has paid off, as the show has been enjoying strong commendations so far, with many people praising the producers and actors for their work.
The two artists have enjoyed the experience and do not want it to stop.
It remains to be seen if this reception will carry over to the upcoming episodes, but the show has attracted a large number of fans already, all of whom are waiting for it eagerly.
