President Donald Trump did the unthinkable by walking out of the joint communiqué that is usually a traditional ending of the G7 summit.

Despite the fact that, Trump arrived late for the official event on Friday, he did not hesitate to leave the Canadian grounds early to board Air Force One on his way to Singapore where he will be meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

After the carefully prepared joint communiqué was issued on Saturday from the G7 leaders, it did not take long for Trump to comment on it, even though he did not stay until the end of the meeting.

In a Twitter statement, the president claimed that he had ordered the American officials not to endorse the joint communiqué, even though it was already signed and approved by all of the participating members.

The communiqué’s point was to present the progress that had been made and the goals that were set during the official meeting between the world leaders. Trump’s refusal to take part in it was an unprecedented act that has never been seen before.

Furthermore, the American leader’s outbursts on social media could have a devastating effect on the country’s relationship with Canada, as Trump personally addressed the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, by calling him “dishonest and weak.”

Trudeau’s representative, Cameron Ahmad, defended the prime minister by explaining that he did not say anything that has not been said before in front of Trump.

Following the president’s unexpected departure, many were concerned that G7 could soon find itself with one less leader since the group has already faced some epic divisions on matters like climate change and trade.

Moreover, the face of the free world seems more interested in striking partnerships with rogue leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.
