Just days after fashion designer Kate Spade took her life at age 55, the world was shocked by the news of another celebrity’s tragic death.
On Thursday, it was confirmed that the body of famous chef Anthony Bourdain had been discovered inside his room in a luxurious hotel in France. The cause of death was hanging, and so far the case is being treated as a suicide.
What made Bourdain’s final act so unexpected for many was that just four months earlier, the TV star causally discussed matters like life and death in an interview.
The 61-year-old father of one was heard explaining that he was perfectly happy with his life just the way it is. He also admitted that he was not planning on retiring soon and he liked being on the road for 250 days a year.
However, even though the celebrity chef was always on the move, he still made everything possible to spend time with his child, 11-year-old Ariane, who lives in Manhattan with her mother.
Bourdain explained that the arrival of his only daughter in his world charged him with the desire to live a happier life and take on new responsibilities.
Anthony also admitted that before Ariane was born, he would often do reckless and dangerous things, often living on the edge.
In February, the world-renowned traveler described himself as happier than he had ever been and according to him, it was his girlfriend, Asia Argento, who was responsible for that. The actress and Bourdain met in 2016, on the set of an episode of his popular CNN show Parts Unknown.
Bourdain touched many people by the way he carried himself. Big names like former President Barack Obama have released statements mourning his death.
Earlier today, it was revealed that after his first marriage crumbled, he was very depressive and suicidal, a topic he covered immensely in his 2005 book, Medium Raw.
