After staying on message for a few days, Donald Trump went back to his old self during a campaign event in Wilmington, North Carolina Tuesday where he suggested that supporters of “the Second Amendment” are the only ones, who can prevent a Hillary Clinton victory in November. Mr. Trump said it was a joke, but critics and some neutral observers claim it was a threat. Here is what the controversial business mogul said:
“Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know. But I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day.”
The Second Amendment is the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The comment went viral and is still trending on social media. The Trump campaign has responded to the uproar with a statement. It reads:

The Clinton campaign has slammed Trump’s “joke,” it said:

any way" pic.twitter.com/SwFhiwUqdr— Bradd Jaffy (@BraddJaffy) August 9, 2016
Trump seems incapable of staying focused more than a week; some commentators believe that he is his own worst enemy. The reaction of a bearded man wearing a red shirt sitting behind (on Trump’s left) after the remark was made speaks volume.
