A Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel lawsuit is going hard after German Bauer Media Group, the publisher behind Heat, a gossip magazine that is published across Europe.
Pop music superstar Justin Timberlake and his wife of two years, actress Jessica Biel, are going after a British tabloid for defamation. Heat magazine and its German publisher are being sued in Ireland, because it is believed the Irish court system works faster when it comes to those cases.
The two entertainers have filed separate defamation proceedings after Heat published photos and attributed erroneous quotes to the star of long-running drama 7th Heaven. The article and images were published last month.
Timberlake and Biel are represented by their European lawyer, Paul Tweed who confirmed the defamation proceedings saying:
“We have issued defamation proceedings on behalf of our clients, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, in relation to an article and a headline in Heat magazine. We are suing in Ireland in relation to publication in all jurisdictions, as our clients are entitled to do.”
According to Tweed, most of the cases are resolved outside of the court, but the two stars will need to go to Dublin for this to happen. If an agreement between the different parties is not reached, the High Court is expected to take on the case by next summer.
Since first getting together in 2007, Timberlake and Biel have been closely followed by tabloids. They were hit by cheating, divorce and pregnancy rumors.
Biel can be seen next in the drama Shiva and May with Zosia Mamet. The movie has no official release date. She made a successful cameo on Fox’s comedy New Girl in September.
Timberlake is currently embarked on The 20/20 Experience World Tour that started in New York City in November 2013 and will end on December 20, 2014 in Atlanta.
His last two albums were certified platinum in the US.
